History

Karen Reedy Dance is a modern dance company dedicated to performing exciting, enriching, high quality dance and raising the standards of the art form. This group plans to perform a diverse range of contemporary choreography, including current voices as well as reconstructions from the past. This forum for creativity is intended to enrich the creativity and awareness of the artists as well as of their audiences.

Karen Reedy Dance is committed to education and awareness of the art form. The dance concerts themselves are educational, through their inclusion of diverse styles of choreography. In addition, KRD intends to highlight this educational component through a lecture series to be held in conjunction with the programs.

KRD believe that the art form of dance should be accessible by all, regardless of age, race, or sex. An educational outreach program is being developed to bring dance to under-served populations through performances, lectures, and classes.

Performing the works of Karen Reedy, as well as a diverse range of repertory, this company aims to create an environment to celebrate, nurture, and promote the artistic field of dance, by providing high quality dance productions, education, and accessibility.
